Description


Kim Kelley is a child sexual abuse and trafficking survivor, advocate, speaker, podcaster, and founder of the nonprofit organization  Digital Defenders United⁠. She is known for her survivor-led work focused on combating child exploitation, improving online child safety, supporting trauma-informed law enforcement training, and advocating for systemic reforms to protect children.  

According to her published biography, Kelley was born into the international religious cult known as the Children of God (later called The Family International), where she states she endured approximately twenty years of abuse, trafficking, and coercive control before escaping as a young adult in Mexico. After rebuilding her life and establishing several businesses, she redirected her efforts toward anti-trafficking and child protection advocacy.  

In 2024, Kelley founded Digital Defenders United, a survivor-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing child exploitation through technology, public awareness, policy advocacy, and collaboration with law enforcement and industry leaders. The organization’s stated mission is to combine survivor expertise, technological innovation, and strategic advocacy to combat child exploitation both online and offline.  

As a podcaster and media host, Kelley has interviewed survivors, technologists, law enforcement professionals, researchers, policymakers, and child-safety advocates. Her podcast and media appearances frequently focus on:
